[Postmortem Studios] Living Constructs

Golems make excellent servants, tireless, tough and obedient, but they lack that spark of life and adaptability that free thinking people have. Some have tried to instil their creations with some imitation of the free though, the soul, that ‘real’ people have with varying degrees of success and sometimes spectacular failure. When a slave has the ability to recognise that it is a slave it chafes against that control and seeks to free itself from it. Some of those constructs have managed to win their freedom through violence, labour, the death of their creator or their largesse and these constructs have gained true freedom, true self determination and true souls, becoming complete. Now these freed slaves form an ever growing community of liberated beings and they are learning to make more of themselves.

Living Constructs provides the opportunity to play self-determining devices, golems and constructs in D&D4E campaigns and game worlds.

Living Constructs is available at RPGNow.com.

Hey! Whatcha Playin'?

In this episode of the podcast, Mike and Kyle introduce answer the ever-burning question-- Hey, dude! Whatcha playin'? And they spend the hour discussing all the various and sundry roleplaying games that they've experimented with over the last several weeks. But as it turns out, they've both only played Paizo's Pathfinder.
Specifically, they both only played the Rise of the Runelords campaign. But they love it, as loyal listeners well know. They spend time talking about problems that have arisen and how they've adapted the campaigns to the particular problems with their groups.

Kobold Quarterly Magazine #9

Kobold Quarterly #9 features an interview that unfortunately is sad and all-too-timely: the last interview with Dave Arneson.

We had no idea of Mr. Arneson's poor health when we conducted the interview several months ago, but the interviewer and staff are grateful to have one last visit with the man who gave us the roleplaying hobby.

Also of interest:

* Monte Cook launches a new column, Game Theories
* We take a look at the classic bat-demon, Camazotz
* Our first dual-stat 3E/4E article offers up the Maedar as a PC race
* A reader request for a Kitsune race for 4E is fulfilled
* The Map of Fantasy series offers an isometric Bandit Lair for any edition
* Plus dinosaurs, bard magic, magical oaths, ritual drugs, and warlocks!

It's a full heaping helping of great game material to inspire any 3E/OGL or 4E fan to play a better game and enjoy both the history and the future of the hobby.

Kobold Quarterly #9 is available at RPGNow.com.

Green Ronin True20 Sale

Green Ronin values and appreciates our PDF customers and to show it we've put True20 on sale for only $9.99.

True20 Adventure Roleplaying, Revised Edition

With True20 Adventure Roleplaying you embark on journeys of the imagination, with heroes and stories you and your friends create. This book tells you everything you need to know to play an exciting adventure roleplaying game: how to create your own heroes, how to handle action and conflict, how to narrate adventures, and how to keep it all fair and fun.

True20 simplifies and streamlines the adventure roleplaying experience: everything is resolved using the same core system and all you need is a single 20-sided die to play! There's no bookkeeping of points, whether hit points, power points, or experience points. Game play is fast and furious thanks to innovations like the Toughness save damage system, based on the award-winning Mutants & Masterminds RPG. You can use True20 to model nearly any genre, from fantasy and horror to modern action and science fiction.

This Revised Edition of True20 Adventure Roleplaying includes the entire contents of the True20 Companion.
