I'd like to thank you for checking out the new site. I am very proud of this site and I hope that all of you find it useful in the days, weeks and years to come. Although the site itself is a portal of information you will be seeing our news on other sites around the web, www.rpghost.com and www.webrpg.com to name a few. Let's take some time here to explain the goals and aims of this site.
If you would like to alert my attention to a role-playing game, computer, console or pen and paper you can contact me one of two ways.
Tell me about it in an email - Send an email to info@rpgnews.com and explain your game in detail. If the game captures my attention I will look for more information and will contact you about the game.
There are 52 weeks in a year so that's 52 games. There are well over 1000 Role-playing Games out there and I know there are far more than 1000 Computer or Console Role-playing Games out there. Show me the good ones out there so the rest of the gaming community can know. This is what I'm here for.
If you would like to show me your website, simply send me an email explaining a little about the site and include your URL so I can surf on over. If your site is of an adult nature, thank you for providing me some nice pictures but that site is disqualified from the competition, let's keep it clean.
As far as comics go, I'll be a little more lenient with the adult nature, but expect a tag warning against the lewdness of your comic. If you would like to be considered for comic of the week, please either send me your comic via email or send me a URL of its location.
You clicked on the "Article" link to get to this letter so I'll explain a little more on this feature of the site. I'm not sure on the frequency yet but I would like this to be a section for investigative articles and hot topics people are interested in. You may mail me your suggestion for a "hot topic" at info@rpgnews.com and I will place it in a poll with other hot topics. Whoever has the most popular vote at the end of the period will get their article.
Company Profile will be a monthly section that will detail the games, employees and history of a particular game company. This section will be monthly and I will take the poll down one to two weeks prior of the new month so that I may have enough time to get the necessary materials and information. If you would like to have your company to be considered for the monthly poll, simply email me with some company info or email the name of a company, what they do and an URL if there is one. All email should go to info@rpgnews.com.
"Coming Soon," will detail Games and Computer Games that are going to be coming out and when. I ask that you submit products to me at info@rpgnews.com as it is impossible to keep track of all of the independent releases that have begun to pop up. Just email me the title, tentative release and a bit about the game (a sentence will do).
Finally, I am hoping that some of you are willing to help out. I can scour the net from here until next month but I'll still miss a whole hell of a lot. Those of you wishing to help out can do so by submitting news. Don't just copy and paste the press release, do up a nice little article on the subject and submit it. www.rpgnews.com is not about simply regurgitating news and press releases; it's about simple, quick to read, easy to understand news. We want to inform the gamer, not bore them with the latest press release. Keep this in mind when you hit that submit button.
We opened our doors as of Monday, April 30th 2001. So far things are looking good. There are, even before we opened totally, exciting projects on the future. In the months to come I want to share this news with you so stick around!
